At Ventura County Believe Center, we are passionate about equipping people to serve with both compassion and wisdom. Through faith-based training and practical instruction, individuals are prepared to walk alongside others as care navigators and biblical counselors. Our self-paced online program blends case management principles with spiritual formation, guiding participants through intentional learning, reflection, and discernment. The journey concludes with thoughtful assessment and pastoral connection, ensuring each participant is supported, affirmed, and ready to serve with confidence and purpose. In partnership with the Institute for Biblical Counseling & Discipleship (IBCD), We believe God uses growth to reveal calling and calling to bring impact.
Biblical Counseling Training & Level 1 Certification
We help individuals get trained and equipped to become Biblical Counselors, walking alongside them every step of the way—from training to certification and practical application.
Our Biblical Counseling training is completed through The Institute for Biblical Counseling & Discipleship (IBCD). This program includes a 20-hour online self-paced course, followed by a final exam and a pastoral interview. Upon successful completion, participants pay a certification fee to receive their IBCD Level 1 Certificate. There is a small monthly cost for this online resource of $6.
Throughout the entire process, we intentionally come alongside each participant with hands-on support, care, and discipleship. This is more than coursework—it is relational, Christ-centered training.
During the training process, participants:
Receive biblical counseling for themselves, supporting personal growth and healing
Shadow our team during live biblical counseling sessions
Learn how to counsel others using Scripture, wisdom, and compassion
Once participants receive their Level 1 Certificate and are ready to counsel, we continue to support them by:
Shadowing their counseling sessions
Offering ongoing coaching, feedback, and encouragement
Helping them grow in confidence and effectiveness as Biblical Counselors
Our heart is to train and equip individuals to help others through difficult seasons using God’s Word. This training also provides a strong biblical foundation that benefits every area of life—equipping participants to encourage, support, and guide others in a Christ-centered, biblical manner within their families, churches, and communities.
Care Navigator / Case Manager Training
We offer hands-on training for individuals who feel called to help people in need move forward in their journey.
This training is experiential and relational, allowing individuals to shadow experienced Care Navigators and learn through real-life application.
Trainees will assist with practical support such as:
Obtaining identification (IDs, documents)
Scheduling appointments and transportation
Resume building and employment search
Life skills and goal setting
Connecting individuals to resources
